Senior Programmes Officer – NANGO

NANGO is a dynamic membership-based association dedicated to coordinating Civil Society Organisations (CSOs), strengthening CSOs capacity, fostering an enabling environment for CSOs, and leading CSOs efforts on policy advocacy in Zimbabwe. Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Senior Programs Officer to assist and contribute to our project management, Monitoring and Evaluation reporting, and resource mobilization efforts. This position will play a key role in ensuring that our programs align with the strategic objectives of the organisation and are executed with excellence. The ideal candidate should possess a comprehensive understanding of Zimbabwe’s CSO regulatory frameworks and landscape, experience in managing stakeholder relationships, and a strong background in socio-economic development issues and CSO capacity strengthening.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in coordinating project management from design to completion, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and compliance with donor requirements.
- support M&E activities, producing high-quality reports that reflect project outputs, outcomes, and impact.
- Assist in driving resource mobilization efforts, identifying funding opportunities, and crafting proposals to secure financial support.
- Contribute to fostering CSOs enabling environment through advocacy for conducive regulatory frameworks and strengthening of sector-wide systems.
- Engage and manage relationships with key stakeholders, including members of NANGO, government stakeholders, donor agencies, and other non-state actors.
- Support the coordination of CSOs to foster collaboration, knowledge sharing, and collective action.
- Promote organizational learning and continuous improvement through effective programme management practices.
Qualifications and Experience:
- A postgraduate qualification in Law, Development Studies, International Relations, Peace and Security, Social Development, or a related field.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in project management, particularly within the NGO sector in Zimbabwe.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Zimbabwe’s CSO regulatory frameworks and enabling environment.
- Strong understanding of socio-economic development issues in Zimbabwe and the region.
- Proven experience in stakeholder engagement and relationship management.
- Experience in CSO coordination and capacity strengthening is a significant advantage.
- Familiarity with managing donor grants and compliance with donor requirements is preferred.
Skills and Competencies:
- Excellent project management skills with a track record of delivering high-impact projects.
- Strong analytical skills and experience in M&E, with the ability to produce compelling reports.
- Resourceful and adept at resource mobilization and proposal development.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills for effective stakeholder engagement.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
