About My Voice in Zimbabwe

My Voice in Zimbabwe, takes a comprehensive approach to addressing Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights challenges by incorporating policy advocacy, tailor-made health and rights educational courses, and livelihood development and strengthening. We empower youth by promoting sustainable livelihoods through skills training and income-generating opportunities. Simultaneously, My Voice utilizes an innovative education model to provide accurate Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights information. We organization collaborates with Specialist Training Model Advisors who contribute their expertise to the development of evidence-based programs and sustainable solutions.

My Voice engages in policy advocacy to shape legislation and policies that promote Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights and address systemic barriers. By combining these approaches, My Voice aims to create lasting change and improve the overall well-being and rights of young people in Zimbabwe regarding SRHR.

NOTE: VOLUNTARY POSITION

The Policy Research and Advocacy Coordinator will be responsible for conducting policy research, analyzing and evaluating existing policies, developing advocacy strategies, and engaging with stakeholders to promote policy change. The successful candidate will play a vital role in advancing our organization’s mission by influencing policy decisions and driving positive social impact.

Duties and Responsibilities

Conduct comprehensive policy research by analyzing legislation, regulations, and relevant literature to inform evidence-based advocacy efforts.
Evaluate the impact of existing policies and proposed policy changes, providing analysis and recommendations to guide decision-making.
Develop and implement effective advocacy strategies, including identifying key stakeholders, building coalitions, and cultivating relationships with policymakers and government officials.
Participate in policy dialogues, consultations, and public hearings to represent the organization’s interests and contribute to policy discussions.
Create clear and compelling policy briefs, reports, and communication materials to effectively convey research findings, policy recommendations, and advocacy messages.
Monitor policy developments, track progress on policy goals, and evaluate the impact of advocacy efforts through data collection and analysis.
Collaborate with internal teams, stakeholders, and partners to integrate policy priorities into programmatic activities and ensure a coordinated approach.
Stay updated on emerging policy trends, developments, and best practices related to the organization’s focus areas.
Represent the organization in external forums, conferences, and events to share knowledge, build networks, and enhance the organization’s visibility.
Provide support and guidance to colleagues on policy-related matters, fostering a culture of policy literacy within the organization. Any other duties as assigned from time to time Knowledge/Qualifications for the Role

Qualifications and Experience

Degree in Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field Public Policy, Political Science, International Relations or any other).
Proven experience in policy research, analysis, and advocacy, preferably in a nonprofit or advocacy organization.
Strong understanding of policy-making processes, government structures, and public affairs.
