About Us:

NANGO is a dynamic membership-based association dedicated to coordinating Civil Society Organisations (CSOs), strengthening CSOs capacity, fostering an enabling environment for CSOs, and leading CSOs efforts on policy advocacy in Zimbabwe. Our mission is to support and strengthen CSOs in their efforts to promote socio-economic development, advocate for social justice and human rights protection, and create a sustainable impact.

 Position Overview:

NANGO is looking for a highly motivated and skilled Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) Officer to support our team in tracking, evaluating, and learning from our project activities and interventions. Reporting to the Senior Programs Officer, the MEL Officer will work closely with the Regional Coordinators and the Communications Team to gather, analyse, and disseminate project results. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in Monitoring and Evaluation, with a passion for using data to drive continuous improvement.

 Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement monitoring, evaluation, and learning frameworks to assess projects’ effectiveness, outputs, outcomes, and impact.
  • Collaborate with other programs units to establish and track relevant indicators for all project activities.
  • Regularly collect, validate, and analyse data from various program interventions to produce accurate and compelling reports.
  • Coordinate with the communications team to harvest results and success stories for dissemination to stakeholders.
  • Conduct evaluations to capture lessons learned and integrate findings into future programming.
  • Contribute to the development of data visualization tools and platforms to share project results with internal and external audiences.
  • Support the Senior Programs Officer in preparing high-quality reports for donors, partners, and stakeholders.

 Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Monitoring and Evaluation, Social Sciences, Development Studies, Statistics, or a related field. A postgraduate qualification is an added advantage.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in Monitoring and Evaluation, preferably within the NGO sector.
  • Demonstrated experience with MEL methodologies, data collection, analysis, and reporting for advocacy-related interventions.
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools (such as Excel, SPSS, or other statistical software) and data visualization software.
  • Strong understanding of results-based management and an ability to draw actionable insights from data.
  • Experience in working collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • Knowledge of Zimbabwe’s CSO sector and its challenges is an added advantage.

 Skills and Competencies:

  • Analytical skills with a strong attention to detail in data management and report preparation.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to convey findings to diverse audiences.
  • Ability to work independently while effectively collaborating with team members.
  • Organizational skills to manage multiple projects and deliver timely, high-quality results.
