CNFA is a US-based non-profit nongovernmental organization (NGO) that works to stimulate economic growth and improve rural livelihoods in the developing world through five core capabilities:
(1) Productivity, Food Security and Nutrition;
(2) Input Supply and Farm Services;
(3) Economic Resilience and Rapid Recovery;
(4) Value Chain Development; and
(5) Volunteer Technical Assistance.
Amalima Loko is a USAID-funded program implemented by CNFA and 6 partner organizations which applies community-driven approaches to improve food security, nutrition, and natural resource management in over 80 communal wards in Matabeland North.
Position Summary
- As a Finance Officer you will be required to post entries, manage records.
- Prepare reports, prepare payments and reconciliations.
- Location – Hwange with occasional travel within Amalima Loko operational area.
Responsibilities
• Post and process journal entries to ensure all business transactions are recorded.
• Processing of payments to vendors.
• Review and process employee advances and acquittals.
• Update accounts payable and perform reconciliations
• Assist in the processing of balance sheets, income statements and other financial statements according to legal and company accounting and financial guidelines
• Assist with reviewing of expenses, payroll records etc. as assigned
• Update financial data in databases to ensure that information will be accurate and immediately available when needed
• Prepare and submit weekly/monthly reports
• Assist Accountants in the preparation of monthly/yearly closings
• Assist with other accounting tasks
Qualifications
• A holder of an Accounting Degree.
• At least 2 years of experience in an accounting environment.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Requirement
• Sound understanding of accounting and financial reporting principles and practices
• Computer proficiency in Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook
• Ability to manage complex working relationships.
• Excellent organizing skills
• Great attention to detail
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
Languages
Fluency in spoken and written English is essential. Ability to speak and understand IsiNdebele and/or other languages spoken in Matabeleland North is preferred.
