Principal Accountability
As Finance Assistant, guided by CAMFED’s organizational policies and procedures, you are responsible for supporting the day-to-day running and provision of accurate and up-to-date financial information for the national office and designated districts, following internal controls and processes to help the finance team meet reporting deadlines.

Specific Accountabilities:
- Prepare and manage budgets for CAMFED Zimbabwe’s programs and projects.
- Process school fees payments and ensuring robust and accurate supporting documents for the same are provided by designated districts.
- Receives acquittals, conducts random quality assurance checks, inputs related data in the financial system,
- Ensures that all payments are made against sufficient, complete, correct, and relevant supporting documents duly verified and approved by concerned managers or budget holders.
- Conducts monthly age analysis and tracks loans and advances given to staff members and stakeholders.
- Updates of termly school fees receipts and tracking tool and preparing status reports,
- Conduct district support visits which include spot checks, borrower verifications, Mother Support Group Grant administration, disbursement follow ups and schools support visits.
- Assists in the provision of financial training to stakeholders & staff members.
- Prepares accurate and complete monthly district reports.
- Performs monthly bank reconciliation and balance sheet items.
- Ensures that all finance relate source documents are available and complete
- Perform routine administrative tasks including filing, banking and handling of finance correspondence.
- Ensure that child protection and safeguarding policy is implemented and promoted and uphold best safeguarding practices within CAMFED and across the wider partnership network.
- The duties and responsibilities as set out above are not exhaustive and the role holder may be required to carry out additional duties within reasonableness of their level of skills and experience.
Person specification:
- BAcc/BCom/BTech degree in Accounting, Finance and Business Management or simar related qualifications. Relevant professional qualifications such as full ACCA, CIMA, ICSA etc. will be considered.
- Minimum one year experience in a similar role
Essential requirements:
- Excellent numeracy and financial awareness
- Comprehensive understanding of Microsoft Office, with excellent Excel skills
- Good organizational skills, creative thinking, and excellent written and oral communication skills
- Results orientated and excellent problem solver with accurate processing of financial data with strong attention to detail.
- Flexible, self-motivated, and hard-working individual who will work well in a dynamic and creative team in a fast-moving environment
- Demonstrable experience in a finance/accounting environment
