Job Description

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Deputy Chief of Party to support our mission for a USAID funded project. The ideal candidate will be responsible for assisting in the overall management of program operations, ensuring our initiatives are executed effectively to achieve strategic goals. This role is critical in fostering collaboration, overseeing project implementation, and driving impactful results.

As the Deputy Chief of Party, you’ll play a pivotal role in:

•    Programme Quality: Ensuring Quality Program Implementation, sustainability and effective Resource Planning and Oversight
•    Leading with Vision: Drive strategic initiatives that align with our mission and values.
•    Building Relationships: Build partnerships among international-, national- and community-level stakeholders.
•    Innovating Solutions: Bring fresh ideas to the table and challenge the status quo to improve our programs.
•    Reporting and Documentation: Lead in the drafting of key program reports and documents and support generation of knowledge products to reflect high quality program results and progress
•    Work Environment: Create an enabling environment and oversee Field Level Program Operations
•    Empowering Teams: Inspire and mentor your colleagues to achieve exceptional results.

Qualifications

Education/Training: University degree required. Master’s degree or equivalent in agriculture, economics, management or international development preferred.

Experience/Technical Skills: A minimum of 7 years of progressively increasing management responsibility in complex, multi-sector international humanitarian and development projects as Deputy Chief of Party, or senior management experience on projects of similar size and scope.

Skills:

  • Demonstrated experience developing and ensuring quality control for technically rigorous, food security integration and collaboration, particularly for sub-grantees and implementation awards.
  • Demonstrated ability to network, communicate, and build/maintain relationships with a wide range of stakeholders, including experience managing USAID cooperative agreements and/or contracts.
  • Strong building of relationships with host governments, donors, other donor-funded projects and stakeholders, local organizations, and partners in low resource environments.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are tailored to diverse audience types, audience sizes, and communication platforms.
  • Experience recruiting, developing, and managing staff and teams in remote contexts.
  • Excellent, high-level, demonstrated written and oral communications skills in English is required, including the writing of quality reports and detailed analysis of strategic information.
