A local faith based Non-Governmental Organization involved in humanitarian, development and advocacy work seeks to fill the following vacant position:

Economic Empowerment Officer

The main role of the Economic Empowerment Officer is to lead the planning, assessment and implementation of economic empowerment fund project activities to support our project participants become economic independence and self-sufficient. The Officer will offer technical support to agro and non agrobased economic empowerment projects.

Duties:

• Conduct initial job counselling and economic assessment for project participants.
• Conduct job and labour markets for participants.
• Conduct assessment of economic empowerment projects for participants to assess the feasibility, viability and economic profitability of proposed projects.
• Support participants to develop economic empowerment project concept notes.
• Support the establishment of economic empowerment projects for participants.
• Organize and facilitate economic and entrepreneurship empowerment coaching, mentoring sessions and learning exposure visits for participants.
• Develop economic and entrepreneurship empowerment training programs for participants.
• Support project participants to access markets for their produce.
• Record keeping of inputs, income, expenditure, profit and loss from economic empowerment projects.

Desired qualifications and skills:

• A first degree with bias towards Entrepreneurship and Economic Empowerment
• Masters with bias towards Entrepreneurship and Economic Empowerment is an added advantage
• At least 3 years of experience with Entrepreneurship and Economic Empowerment
• Able to develop business plans and cashflows for economic empowerment projects
