Monitoring and Evaluation Officer

Summary

Help - Hilfe zur Selbsthilfe, is seeking a Monitoring and Evaluation Officer for an anticipated USAID-BHA funded Action against hunger and food insecurity (Aahfis) Project in Zimbabwe. The Aahfis will seek to sustainably improve the humanitarian food insecurity situation in Gwanda rural district. The estimated implementation timeframe for the Aahfis is 2023-2024.

Hiring is contingent upon successful award of the project and USAID approval of the candidate.

What You’ll Be Doing (Essential Duties)

Reporting to the project manager and MEAL coordinator, you will support project staff on ways to document, organize and capture program progress (including best practices and case studies of innovation and initiatives); Draft tools and their revisions as well as data collection procedures (e.g. project performance tracking, indicators, data flow chart, AITT, terms of reference); Review the performance of existing management information systems identify potential modifications; Manage and monitor implementation of project monitoring and evaluation in alignment with project requirements; Design and monitor key indicators, appropriate tools, formats and procedures for monitoring each level of the log frame; Oversee monitoring systems to track project performance and changes in the project; actively participate in compiling and reviewing of monthly, quarterly and end of project reports as per donor requirements; Disseminate information on Accountability, Monitoring and Evaluation to project; Manage database and information management system for programme output indicators; Collaborate with the implementing partner and primary stakeholders; Organise and facilitate trainings on monitoring and evaluation functions for capacity.

Required qualifications, skills and experience

Degree in Statistics, or any other quantitative or research related field, Social Sciences,

Development Studies; At least 3 years’ relevant work experience as M&E officer in an NGO environment; Experience in design and implementation of monitoring and evaluation systems including both qualitative and quantitative approaches; Demonstrated ability to build surveys onto digital platforms such as Kobo or ODK; In-depth working knowledge of computer based statistical packages including SPSS, Excel and information dissemination software; Excellent report writing and presentation skills.
