HIV Research and Training Programme (HIV RT )

The School of Pharmacy in the College of Health Sciences – University of Zimbabwe in collaboration with the State University of New York at Buffalo (UB), USA, is inviting applications for postgraduate fellowships sponsored by the National Institutes of Health (NIH), Fogarty International Centre. These fellowships, offered for academic year 2023/2024, are intended to strengthen the capacity of Zimbabwean research scientists to design, develop and conduct effective, relevant and ethical research projects that focus on infections with HIV, TB and OI in Zimbabwe.

 Benefits/Cost Support: Accepted fellows will receive funding for: travel to the US, health insurance while in the US, and training supplies while in the US. Upon return to UZ for completion of training, accepted fellows have the opportunity to receive funding to support their research project. Accepted fellows have the opportunity to receive additional funding support for: travel for professional development, a laptop, publication costs, and instructional materials costs.

N.B. The support does not cover tuition.

We are offering for academic year 2023/2024:

 3 Postdoctoral Fellowship

Postdoctorals applying for this fellowship must be specialized in the field of Clinical Pharmacology, Pharmacogenomics or Pharmaceutical Sciences and must be attached to an appropriate institution for research purposes.

• 1 Doctoral Fellowship

Students applying for this fellowship must be registered with the University of Zimbabwe for a doctoral degree program in an HIV related field.
